It's true - married life is the life for me. Having Peter at my side and knowing he'll always be there is the most wonderful blessing I've been given. Adjusting to being married is a transition, but really that's the whole beauty of it all. When we were thrown a learning curve, we took it head-on and grew stronger with each challenge. Peter is who I can be my best self with! That doesn't mean he makes me a different person or that I'm even close to perfect when I'm with him, but together we are resilient. Together we learn so much more about humility, honesty, integrity, and love. Most of all, love. That's what it all boils down to, isn't it? The first great commandment given was that we love one another; being sealed to the person who I love so deeply has taught me some incredible lessons on real love. The kind of love that grows with time, that deepens and becomes a sure foundation, and that rises exponentially. Our first year came with some wonderful opportunities for growth, and as we stuck to our motto,
"Thee lift me, and I lift thee, and we'll ascend together."

| General Conference Fall 2011 |
Three months after getting married, we both felt like it was time to start praying about our duet becoming a trio - if you know what I mean. Something inside of me was screaming "Have a baby! Have a baby!", and Peter, being the incredible man he is, took that seriously and we both pondered and prayed about whether the time was right. We both felt a resounding - YES - and then the winding nine-month road of pregnancy stretched out in front of us. We were so excited, and so grateful! I made us a happy pizza the night we found out, and we broke out the Martinelli's we saved from our wedding (very fancy).

This is the face of:
"Hooray! I won't be spending
any more money on
pregnancy tests trying
to find out if I'm
pregnant long before they
actually work because
I'm too excited to wait!" |
